How Iyengar Yoga compares

Ranges are national guides for each style, not one studio's price.

Iyengar Yoga questions

Why are there so many props?

Because a block or a belt puts you in the shape correctly rather than approximately, and Iyengar cares about that more than any other style. Expect blocks, straps, chairs, bolsters and sometimes wall ropes in a single class.

Is Iyengar slow?

It feels slow, because each posture is set up carefully and then held. It is not easy. A standing pose held for two minutes with the alignment actually corrected is hard work.

Is it a good choice if I have an injury?

It is the most alignment focused Yoga on most timetables, and people working around old injuries often end up there for exactly that reason. That is an observation about the style, not advice about your body. Ask a clinician first, then tell the teacher before class.

Why compare Iyengar Yoga here

  • Prices carry a date

Every price on this page shows when a person last checked it. Stale is stated, never hidden.

  • Verification is four states

Listed, claimed, verified and enhanced. We never blur them into one green tick.

  • Equipment aware

Class size is capped by machine count, which is why the apparatus in the room is listed, not just the class name.

  • Position is never sold

Order is verification, freshness and rating. No studio can buy its way up this list.
