Frequently Asked Questions

View all FAQs
Do I need private sessions before joining a group equipment class?

Yes, 3 private sessions come first, and only then can you join a small group equipment class. The first private is $55 for new clients, so the run-in is not as steep as it sounds.

Which equipment class package is worth buying?

A single Equipment Class is $35. The 10-class package is $325, which works out at $32.50 each, and the 20-class package is $550, or $27.50 each. The bigger pack only pays off if you keep a steady weekly habit, otherwise the saving per class is money sitting on a card you never spend. Both prices cover Equipment Classes rather than Mat or Barre.

What do private and duet sessions cost here?

New clients pay $55 for a first private, then $95 a session, $90 per session across 5 sessions and $85 per session across 10 sessions. Duets run $68 per person down to $59 per person at 20 sessions. Master Trainer rates sit higher at $175 private and $95 per person for a duet.

What apparatus is in the room?

Equipment classes use reformer and half trapeze combo units, Wunda chairs, spine correctors, the Cadillac and ladder barrels, all made by Balanced Body. Foam rollers, stability balls, rings, BOSU and therabands turn up as well.

Is there a student rate in Davis?

Yes. With a valid photo ID, a 10-class pass for Mat and Barre classes is $125, which is $12.50 a class. That pass is written for Mat and Barre, not Equipment Classes.

Why does Sunday only show an evening slot?

Sunday runs as an evening block that ends at 9pm, unlike the rest of the week. Weekdays open at 8am and run to 8:30pm, with Friday finishing at 6:30pm. Booking goes through Mindbody.

Who teaches at Balance Point Pilates Studio?

Sevgi Leno owns the studio and teaches as principal instructor. Her Masters of Arts in Education came from UC Davis.

Is the 4 star rating worth much?

Four stars, but from only 4 reviews, so treat it lightly and judge Balance Point yourself.
