Frequently Asked Questions

View all FAQs
What building is the studio in?

The historic Tannery in West Berkeley's Gilman District, one block off I-80 at the Gilman Street off ramp. Free and street parking, which for Berkeley is a genuine selling point.

How many people are in a group class?

Five at most. That is a small enough room that the instructor is watching you rather than the class, and it is why a single class here costs $49 rather than the going rate at a studio running twelve reformers.

Is there a contract on the memberships?

Three months minimum, with 30 days written notice to cancel. Take a class pack first if you are unsure.

How much is a membership?

$156 a month for 4 classes, $296 for 8 and $420 for 12. Members also pay $37 for extra classes rather than the $49 walk in price.

Is there any advantage to being a member beyond price?

The booking window doubles. Members book 60 days out and non members 30, which decides whether you get the class you want. There is also a guest pass every month and 10% off retail.

What apparatus is in the studio?

Balanced Body throughout: reformers with towers, chairs, arcs, a Cadillac trapeze table, a ladder barrel and a CoreAlign, plus props. A CoreAlign is the unusual one, a pair of sliding carts you stand on and push apart against resistance, and very few studios in the East Bay have one. It is the reason the mixed equipment classes here are worth booking over another reformer hour.

What is Reformer Power Hour?

The advanced class. Below it sit Reformer Foundations and Mixed Equipment Foundations for beginners, a mixed level reformer class, a Stretch and Restore session and a cardio jumpboard class.

How much is a private session?

$150 for one, $675 for 5 and $1250 for 10. Duets are $85, dropping to $75 a session in a 10 pack.
