Frequently Asked Questions

View all FAQs
Do I have to start with the intro month?

Yes. Every new member is required to begin with the Introductory Month at $749, which covers four private lessons and unlimited open studio time. It starts with an evaluation by the owner, a senior teacher trainer, who builds you a personalised programme to use in open studio. That is a firm gate and a substantial cost, so understand it before enquiring.

What is Open Studio?

Self practice time in the studio, working through the programme built for you rather than following a class. Every membership includes unlimited access to it.

What does membership cost after that?

Between $399 and $1979 a month for privates or semi privates, all including unlimited open studio. That is the widest membership range in this directory and it depends entirely on how many sessions you want.

What apparatus is there?

A full Gratz set: reformer, mat, Cadillac, Electric Chair, Wunda Chair, Guillotine, Baby Chair, Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector, Small Barrel, Pedipole, Foot Corrector and Toe Stretcher. That is the original Joseph Pilates design list and very few studios anywhere hold all of it.

Can I train remotely?

Yes, privates and semi privates run virtually as well as in person. Virtual sessions use the mat unless you have your own apparatus at home.

Are there two locations?

Tavernier, which is open to anyone, and a studio inside the Ocean Reef Club which is restricted to residents of that club.

Is this a teacher training centre?

Yes, for Romana's Pilates International, which is the lineage running directly from Joseph Pilates.

What do I wear?

Fitted clothing rather than baggy, so the instructor can see and correct your alignment. Socks are required and non skid ones are sold at both studios.

Ready to book at Pilates In Paradise?

Book directly with the studio. We take no booking fee and no commission, so the price you see is the price you pay.

Booking opens on pilatesinparadise.net.
