Because it is built around a working day rather than through it. Friday runs a morning ending at 10am, a lunch hour finishing at 1pm, then an evening closing at 7:30pm. Tuesday does the same with different edges. Monday and Thursday drop the lunch slot. It is more flexible than a two block schedule but it needs checking day by day.
