About Thrive Pilates
Thrive runs Pilates and yoga out of a second floor space on Walnut Street in Rittenhouse Square, and the split between the two sides is real rather than decorative. Mat Pilates, yoga and Springboard sit on one set of memberships. The Reformer sits on its own, and a hybrid plan is the only way to buy both.
The Springboard is worth explaining, because few studios in Philadelphia run it. It is a wall mounted spring apparatus invented by Ellie Herman, who is bringing her Pilates teacher training program back to this studio in early 2027. Springboard classes here are paired with TRX.
Prices are published in full, which is rarer than it should be. Fourteen days of unlimited mat Pilates, yoga and Springboard costs $69 for new clients. Reformer is charged separately: three intro classes for $119, then a monthly plan from $159 for four classes. The cheapest unlimited plan is $179 a month and covers mat and yoga only.
Read the commitment terms before signing. Every membership carries a six month minimum and cancelling needs 30 days in writing. Class cancellation windows vary by format: 18 hours for weekend Reformer, 12 hours for the 7am Reformer and Springboard classes, and six hours for everything else.
Classes run in studio, by livestream and on demand, and private Pilates and private yoga are both available virtually.

View all FAQsWhat does it cost to start?
Three new client packages. Fourteen days of unlimited mat Pilates, yoga and Springboard with TRX is $69, in studio and online. Three Pilates Reformer classes is $119, and it covers the Level I-II, open level and Level II-III classes. Three private sessions is $299.
How do the memberships work?
Six plans, split by what they cover. Mat and yoga unlimited is $179 a month, and adding Springboard takes it to $225. Reformer is bought separately at $159 a month for four classes or $305 for eight. Two hybrid plans mix the two sides: $249 for four Reformer plus four others, $289 for six and six. Every plan has a six month minimum and cancelling needs 30 days in writing.
What is a Springboard class?
The Springboard is a wall mounted board with springs and bars, invented by Ellie Herman, who created much of the contemporary Pilates repertoire taught here. It gives you spring resistance in a much smaller footprint than a Reformer. Thrive pairs it with TRX straps in the same class.
What is the cancellation policy?
It depends on the class. Weekend Reformer classes need 18 hours notice. The 7am Reformer and Springboard classes need 12 hours. Everything else needs six. Late cancellations and no-shows carry a penalty, so check which window applies before you book.
How far ahead can I book?
Booking opens on the 25th of each month for auto-pay members and on the 28th for everyone else, in both cases for the following month. Popular slots go to members first by design.
Can I take classes online?
Yes. Classes run in studio, by livestream and through an on demand library, and the $69 intro package covers the online classes as well as the in studio ones. Private Pilates and private yoga can also be booked virtually.
Is there a drop in rate?
None is published. The studio sells intro packages, monthly memberships and 10-packs, and puts no single class price on its site, so we are not going to quote one. Ask the studio directly if you only want one class.
Does the studio run teacher training?
Yes, for Pilates. Ellie Herman returns to teach her signature program at this studio beginning early 2027, covering classical repertoire alongside exercises she developed herself. She has taught since 1991 and wrote the Pilates manuals used by other training programs.
