View all FAQsDoes The Floor supply mats and towels?
Yes. Every class includes Manduka mats, water and towels, and shoes come off in the Pilates studio. Be aware the space is scented: essential oils and sage are used between and during classes.
What Pilates equipment is upstairs at The Floor?
The second floor room is kitted out with Balanced Body gear: two Studio Reformers, a Centerline Cadillac, an EXO Split Pedal Chair, a Ladder Barrel and a Pedi Pole. The open classes on the schedule are mat work, though, because that apparatus room also runs as a rental space for independent instructors teaching their own clients, so ask first if you want time on the apparatus.
Are the mat classes suitable for a beginner?
Billed as open level to advanced, so a first timer is not out of place. The teaching is contemporary and built on incremental progress rather than a hard test.
Which subway stop is closest to The Floor?
Hoyt Street on the 2 and 3 southbound is the closest accessible stop, and Jay St Metro Tech on the A, C, F and R is the other one.
Is there parking near 310 Atlantic Ave?
Nothing reserved. Street parking on Atlantic Avenue works depending on the time of day, and Icon Parking runs several lots 3-8 blocks away if the street is full.
Can I take the elevator to the second floor?
Yes, an elevator reaches the Dance Studio and Pilates Studio on the second floor.
What is The BACK SPACE used for?
It is the dance studio: 1100 square feet, column-free, with a JBL sound system, ballet barres and a mirrored wall. Auditions of 10 dancers or less fit, and it is barefoot.
Has The Floor been on Atlantic Avenue long?
Since 2017. It runs as a movement studio and community space, so the schedule carries Book Discussions and Events and an Artist Services Program alongside the Pilates mat classes.
