About New Heights Pilates
New Heights is a reformer studio at 10 South Street in the Jersey City Heights, on the corner of Palisade Avenue with the entrance on Palisade. Classes are deliberately small, capped at 7, and the studio frames what it does as classical Pilates taught through a modern lens rather than the aesthetic the method has picked up online.
The classes are named rather than levelled. The Introduction is the one to book first if the reformer is new to you, because it covers how the springs and the carriage work before you sit in a full class. The Classic is the foundational reformer class, The Beginner is the slower version, The Jump adds a jumpboard for cardio, and The Restore is the stretch-focused one. Privates run on either the reformer or the cadillac.
The booking rules reward planning ahead. Members can book 28 days out and class packs 21 days. The waitlist closes 2 hours before the start, so you know either way with time to spare. Cancel inside 12 hours and a pack loses the credit, while an unlimited member takes a fee instead.
Memberships carry a 3-month minimum, renew monthly after that, and need 14 days written notice to change or cancel. Each can be frozen once a calendar year for up to 4 weeks. Grip socks are required and sold in the studio.

View all FAQsIs New Heights Pilates on Palisade Avenue or South Street?
It sits on the corner of Palisade Avenue and South Street in Jersey City Heights, and the entrance is on the Palisade side, not South, which trips up first visits.
How do I find out what New Heights Pilates charges?
No rates are published for New Heights Pilates, so phone (551) 225-0490 before budgeting. Memberships and class packages both exist, and they book on different windows.
What is the difference between The Classic, The Beginner, The Jump and The Restore?
Each group format is reformer based, so the difference is pace and intent rather than equipment. The Classic is the foundational session, The Beginner moves slower, The Jump adds the jump board for cardio work, and The Restore is the stretch focused one. If you are new but cleared for group work, start with The Beginner and move across once the springs stop surprising you.
How far ahead does booking open?
Everything is reserved ahead in the New Heights app, on the App Store and Google Play. Members book 28 days out, class pack holders 21 days out.
What happens if I cancel within 12 hours of class?
Cancel inside 12 hours or skip the class and a pack or limited membership loses that credit. Unlimited members pay a fee.
Does a membership tie me in for 3 months?
Yes. Monthly billing runs on a 3 month minimum, then renews automatically, and ending it needs 14 days written notice before the next billing date.
Why is the class cap set at 7?
Group classes cap at 7 clients, so instructors can give hands-on corrections at New Heights.
Can a complete beginner walk into a group class here?
Not straight away. Anyone brand new to Pilates is asked to begin with private instruction, and the same applies to clients in their third trimester. Privates run on either the Reformer or the Cadillac. Grip socks are required whichever route you take, and they are sold at the studio if you arrive without a pair.
