Frequently Asked Questions
View all FAQsWhy is Studio Arc closed on Tuesday?
Tuesday is the one dark day here, and no reason for it is published. Everything else is open, weekdays from 6:30am and both weekend days 9am to 5pm.
Who teaches at Studio Arc?
Lydia Wei leads the studio, a former dancer with over 20 years of teaching experience in New York City. Sessions run as privates, duets, trios and small groups by appointment, and the studio says it works with beginners, returning practitioners, pregnant mothers and seniors.
What does a private cost at the Jersey City studio?
An intro Reformer Pilates private is $69 and the intro Gyrotonic private is $79. After that a single Pilates Reformer private runs $110 and a single Gyrotonic private runs $130, so Gyrotonic carries a premium at every tier.
Which Studio Arc package is the sensible buy?
Start with the Pilates Intro Package, which is 3 private sessions for $299, because it is the cheapest way to find out whether the format suits you. After that the math gets duller. The 5-session pack is $525 against $110 for a single, which is barely a discount, while the 10-session pack at $1000 and the 20-session pack at $1900 are where the rate per session really falls. Gyrotonic costs more at every step.
What does the $60 membership cover?
That is the lowest published monthly figure, and it sits so far below the private rates that it cannot be buying one-to-one time. Check on the Momence page which class types it opens up before you sign.
Does Studio Arc have reformers or is it mat based?
Mat is the equipment on record, yet the price sheet quotes Reformer Pilates privates and Gyrotonic work, both of which need apparatus. Worth a direct question before booking, because the two do not agree.
Why does the Studio Arc website land on Momence?
Booking runs on Momence, so the public link is a Momence host page rather than a site of its own. It works, but you will be making an account there to see class times.
How solid is the five star rating?
22 reviews average five stars for Studio Arc, a small sample worth reading rather than trusting outright.
