Frequently Asked Questions

View all FAQs
Can I start in a group class, or is there something I have to do first?

Every new client does two introductory private sessions before joining anything else. After that you can pick a private package, a duet, or the small group membership.

What am I not allowed to wear?

Anything with metal on it. Zippers, buttons, belts and snaps tear the upholstery, so fitted clothing without hardware is the rule. Long hair has to be tied up because it catches in the springs, and heavy fragrance is discouraged out of respect for clients with asthma.

Do I need to buy grip socks?

No. Grip socks are welcomed but not required here, and bare feet are fine. The studio's own line is that bare feet give you the most direct connection to the apparatus.

What does a small group class actually cost?

On a membership, $35 a class billed monthly, with membership starting at $140 a month. If you would rather not commit, a 4 pack of group classes is $160. A single private is $90 and a duet is $140 for the pair, so $70 each.

Is the studio easy to get into if stairs are a problem?

Yes. It is ground floor and step free from the parking lot, with free parking directly in front of the building and ADA accessible spaces near the main entrance.

How do I actually book?

By phone or text on (215) 859-8180, or by email to bodiesbypilates@me.com, and they usually reply the same day or the next. Reservations are required for every session, and you should arrive five minutes early, or five to ten for a first visit with the intake form.

Do I need to clean the equipment after I use it?

Yes, clients wipe down whatever they touched using the disinfectant provided. There is a filtered water cooler and cups, but no glass is allowed in the studio.
