Frequently Asked Questions

View all FAQs
How big is a Core Collective Session?

Four participants at most. It is a semi-private format, and the studio developed it with a physical therapist.

What apparatus is used?

Reformer, Cadillac and Chair, all authentic Pilates apparatus. The studio teaches classical Pilates rooted in the original method.

How does a session start?

Every session opens with a Hyperice Hypervolt warm-up before you get on the apparatus. Unusual enough to be worth expecting.

Can KZ come to me?

Yes. There are in-home private group mat Pilates sessions for up to 15 guests, which is a different product from the studio classes.

What does a session cost?

No price is published for KZ Pilates+, on the site or the listing. Booking runs through Arketa, so the rate only shows when you reserve.

How is the programming decided?

By assessment rather than a fixed format. The studio identifies what a given body needs instead of fitting you into a preset class.

What hours does KZ keep?

7:45am to 9pm Monday through Thursday, and to 8pm on Friday. Saturday is 9am to 1:30pm and Sunday runs to 4pm.

What kind of room is it?

Small and deliberately quiet. The studio describes itself as understated, immaculate and calm, with natural textures and muted earth tones, which is a long way from a mirrored chain room. It sits at 111½ East 62nd Street on the Upper East Side. There are showers. Everything is semi-private or private, so you will not find a twenty person class here.
