Several things. It carries a heavier spring load for strength work, an adjustable footbar, shoulder rolls and removable lumbar support. An enhanced jumpboard opens up cardio and interval programming, and a Platform Add-On converts the machine into a standing surface for squats, lunges and planks, which a classical reformer will not do.
What is the Ballet Bar class?
A hybrid. It opens with reformer sequences and moves onto the IM=X Ballet Bar, mixing traditional ballet training with ring stabilisation work.
