I took my first yoga class with Ashley. I was thoroughly surprised with how much I enjoyed this class. I would definitely recommend this class to anyone wanting to start out. There were other males in the class which made me feel welcome. I’m going to go back again for sure.

About UrbanCore Studios
UrbanCore sits in the James Building at 20th and Eye, between Dagny's Coffee Shop and the Fox Theater. The room runs hot. The schedule mixes vinyasa, restorative yoga and Reformer Pilates rather than picking one lane, and there are mats and Reformers both, plus lockers. Instructors here each teach to their own style instead of a house sequence, so two classes in the same week can feel quite different. Beginner through advanced, group or private.

Natalie is a great yoga instructor. Her demeanor is wonderful. She has a great spirit about her. Will definitely keep attending her class.
I can’t say enough good things about this studio. From the moment you walk in, the vibe is incredibly welcoming and grounded. The instructors are highly knowledgeable and caring; they offer great guidance. I leave every single class feeling like I got exactly what I needed-both physically and mentally. Highly recommend!

View all FAQsIs UrbanCore Studios only hot yoga?
No. The schedule runs yoga, stretch, strength and guided meditation, and there is a Reformer in the building alongside the mat work. Hot Vinyasa Flow, Power Flow, Restorative Yoga and Reset + Restore Yoga all sit on the same timetable.
Is the $89 unlimited better value than paying per class?
Single classes are $12-15, so the $89 unlimited turns even at roughly six or seven visits a month. It also drops cancellation and no-show fees, which is the part people tend to underestimate.
Is this the studio between Dagny's and The Fox Theater?
Yes, 1614 20th Street in Downtown Bakersfield, between Dagny's Coffee Shop and The Fox Theater. Street parking out front is free, though event nights downtown eat it, so leave a buffer.
How warm does the room actually get?
Gently heated rather than punishing: UrbanCore holds the room near 80-85 degrees Fahrenheit during class time. Warm enough to sweat properly, without the wall of heat that puts people off hot yoga.
Can I pay at the door?
No. Classes are booked and paid for online before you arrive, through the booking page or the UrbanCore app, so turning up with cash will not get you onto a mat.
What is the New Student Welcome Pass worth?
It is $30 for 30 days of unlimited classes, which is the cheapest way to work out whether hot yoga in Bakersfield suits you. Set it against the LETSGO code, which takes 50% off a first month of any membership. Whether the two stack is not spelled out, so ask first, then decide if 30 days of unlimited beats a half price month on the $89 tier.
Who qualifies for the Heroes and Students rate?
College students, medical professionals, first responders, teachers, veterans and active-duty military pay $49 per month.
What should I pack for a class here?
A mat, a towel to cover it and wipe sweat, and water. UrbanCore lends mats free but keeps only a limited number, so bring your own on a busy evening. Blocks, straps and the storage lockers cost nothing.
