When I first visited Three Breath Studio a year ago, I was struggling with persistent pain in my left trapezius, lower back, and right knee. I was relying on regular massages and acupuncture just to get temporary relief. Despite working with personal trainers for five years and attending various group sessions, nothing truly resolved the root of the issue. That all changed when I met Sophie. In our very first session, she identified the real cause-skeletal misalignment involving my pelvis, spine, and shoulders. Her ability to diagnose what others had missed was nothing short of remarkable. Over the past year, we've been working together to correct my alignment and improve my posture while gradually building strength. Thanks to her deep expertise, commitment, and individualized approach, I no longer need to rely on constant visits to massage therapists or acupuncturists. Sophie’s professionalism, insight, and dedication have genuinely transformed my physical well-being. I’m now able to enjoy movement and workouts pain-free-something I hadn’t experienced in years. I can't recommend her highly enough!

I wholeheartedly recommend Sophie. Before I started Pilates with Sophie, I experienced pain in my back and shoulders. After about seven years of working with Sophie, I improved my flexibility and endurance, my shoulder and back pain has disappeared and my body postures has improved. It is also more satisfying for me to try on new clothes because of my better posture. Sophie is a wonderful instructor who is always passionate about her work. I highly recommend her.
Three Breaths Studio is by far the best pilates / fitness studio I’ve ever been to! I’ve taken numerous Pilates, yoga, barre, and personal training sessions over many years, and Three Breaths is hands down the best. Sophie not only has deep knowledge in Pilates and physiology, but also the most caring personality. Sophie genuinely cares about her clients and accommodates each individuals’ needs and goals. She’s very detail-oriented, dedicated, and passionate. I used to have chronic neck / lower back pain, especially when I exercise, but since I’ve been working with Sophie weekly for the past 2 years now, I no longer have pain and I am able to exercise painless! I’ve also had sessions with Hazel, the other instructor at Three Breaths, and she is equally amazing! She’s got such positive & happy energy. I cannot say enough good things about Three Breaths and I wish I had more time to go everyday!

View all FAQsDo I need an appointment at Three Breaths Studio?
Yes. Irvine hours run 9am to 8pm daily, but sessions are by appointment only, so book before you drive over.
Why does the schedule page ask for an email?
Their online scheduling system was being tested, so appointments were being requested by email instead. Try the schedule page at threebreathsstudio.com first, and write to the studio if the booking form stalls.
Which Balanced Body apparatus is on the floor in Irvine?
Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, Ladder Barrel and the Pedi-O-Pull, all traditional apparatus made by Balanced Body USA. Chair and Cadillac work are genuinely available here, not just reformer.
How small is a mini group session?
A maximum of 3 or 4 students, and it runs 50 minutes, so it sits closer to a semi private than a class.
What training do the instructors at Three Breaths have?
They have graduated from the Pilates Sports Center certification program, described as 450 hours of education followed by the National Pilates Certification Exam. The Master Pilates Instructors hold multiple diplomas, are nationally certified, and can train new teachers, which matters here because Three Breaths runs its own teacher training program. If you are comparing Irvine studios on teaching depth rather than price, that is the thing worth asking about.
Are prices published for the Irvine studio?
Not in dollars. The figures circulating are quoted in pounds sterling, which cannot be right for Irvine, so ask the studio directly before you assume any number applies.
Is the five star rating a big sample?
No. Five stars at Three Breaths Studio, but only 17 reviews, so read them individually.
Is this classical Pilates or contemporary?
Both. Three Breaths teaches the Classical Pilates Method combined with contemporary work, and adds FRC (Functional Range Conditioning Technique), TRX, yoga and weight training.
