View all FAQsHow do I reserve a group class at Red Hook Pilates?
Email Jen at redhookpilates@gmail.com to RSVP, at least one hour before a Mat or Tower Pilates class starts. Walk-ins are welcome as long as there are at least two participants.
Why does a Tower class cost more than a Mat class?
Tower work is on equipment and the group caps at 5 participants, one fewer than Mat. A single Tower class is $38 in cash, check or AppleCash and $43 by PayPal or card, against $30 or $35 for Mat.
Can a new client go straight into a Tower class?
Not straight away. New clients take a private session of any length first, and the cheapest one is the introductory 30-minute private at $50 cash or $55 by card.
What do private sessions cost, and why are there two prices?
Three lengths, each with two prices depending on how you pay. Cash, check or AppleCash gets $55 for 30 minutes, $90 for a 45-minute session and $100 for the full 55 minutes. PayPal or a credit card costs $60, $95 and $105, because 4.5% sales tax is added. A private can combine equipment, mat work, TRX and stretching, and Jen books them directly by email.
Is there a Reformer, or only the Tower and mats?
Yes, a Balanced Body Allegro 2 Reformer, alongside an Exo Chair, a Barrel and the Tower. Group classes run on Tower or mat, so ask for the Reformer in a private equipment session.
Does Red Hook Pilates teach yoga as well?
Yes. Alongside Mat and Tower Pilates, the studio runs yoga classes and wellness and health based workshops.
Which evenings can I get to after work?
Monday, until 7:30pm, and Wednesday, until 6:30pm. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday finish at 3pm, every weekday opens at 8am, and Red Hook Pilates is closed on Saturday and Sunday.
Can I get to the studio by bus from Park Slope?
Yes. Coming from Park Slope, the B61 stops half a block away, and from Brooklyn Heights or Atlantic Avenue it stops right outside 414 Van Brunt St. Street parking is plentiful if you drive.
