View all FAQsWhat does a first class cost here?
$35 for a first class at Foundation Pilates. Beyond that no rates are published, so ask when you book.
How many people are in a Reformer class?
Up to five. Mat based events can host as many as 40 people, but the Reformer groups stay small.
What is the studio like inside?
Warm lighting, exposed brick and original wood floors, in the historic Lan Mart Building. It shares a wall with Renew Yoga.
Do I need grip socks for every class?
For every reformer class, yes, and the studio frames it as safety and hygiene. They are on sale if you forget.
What is appropriate to wear?
Comfortable, fitted activewear. Leggings or shorts with a supportive top is what the studio suggests, plus grip socks.
What session formats are available?
Semi-Private, Duet and Private sessions, alongside group Reformer classes. All the equipment you need is provided.
Does Foundation train instructors?
Yes, there is a teacher training programme at Foundation Pilates, worth knowing if you want to teach rather than only attend.
When can I actually get to a class here?
In short blocks rather than long days. Monday and Wednesday run a morning to 11am and an evening to 8pm. Friday is mornings to 11am. Tuesday and Sunday finish at 11am too, while Thursday and Saturday close at 10am. So if you want an evening class, Monday or Wednesday are the only options, and the rest of the week is over before lunch.
