About Club Pilates
This Club Pilates on Staten Island runs reformer led classes that also use the springboard, chair, jumpboard and mat. Levels are structured, and reaching Evolution takes three months at the level below or an instructor's approval, so progression is deliberate rather than open. The chain began in San Diego in 2007. A free intro class is offered to anyone who has not tried the format.

View all FAQsAre the hours really the same every day?
Yes, 9am to 5pm, all seven days including Sunday. No day differs from any other. That is unique among the Club Pilates studios in this directory and it cuts both ways: there is never an early class or an evening one, but Sunday is as usable as Monday.
Are the instructors qualified?
Every Club Pilates instructor completes over 500 hours of comprehensive training before teaching, which is a great deal more than a weekend certification and is the same standard at the St. George studio as anywhere else in the chain.
What formats run here?
Reformer Flow as the main class, Cardio Sculpt on the jumpboard, Center plus Balance for slow intentional work, and the Intro class.
How are classes graded?
Level 1 Foundations for beginners, 1.5 Progression for more complex movement, and Level 2 Evolution above that.
Is this St. George?
That is the studio's own name. The address is 35D Bay Street on Staten Island, in the St. George neighbourhood near the ferry.
How solid is the rating?
Six reviews at 5.0, which is far too few to draw a conclusion from. This is a young studio and the intro class will tell you more than the rating.
What equipment gets used?
Reformer, Springboard, EXO-Chair, barre, TRX and mat, moving between them inside a single class.
Do I need grip socks for the intro?
Yes, for every class including the free one, and they are sold at the studio.
