Frequently Asked Questions

View all FAQs
What does a group class at Centered Studio Pilates cost?

A single group class is $49. A 5-pack is $230 and a 10-pack is $420, so packs only pay off if you book them all. There is also an On-Demand Mat Class Video Monthly Membership at $46.

Why can I not just start in a group class?

New clients complete a minimum of 3 private sessions before they are eligible for group classes at Centered Studio Pilates, so budget $107 to $123 each depending on which teacher you book.

Is the Intro to Pilates Group Series a cheaper route in?

It is, at $168 for the 4 weeks, which the studio puts at $42 per class against $49 for a single group class. Completing it fulfills the introductory prerequisite instead of the 3 private sessions, so it is the lower cost path into regular group classes. The catch is eligibility: it runs for a limited time and only for clients without injuries or significant physical limitations.

Which private session rate applies to me?

Three tiers. A Pilates Teacher is $107 a session, a Senior Teacher $114, and the Studio Director $123. The 10-packs run $980, $1040 and $1110 in that same order.

Can I book a Semi-Private Duet online?

No. Duet pricing and availability come from a phone consult on (510) 331-0136.

Which apparatus turns up in a group class?

Group classes run on the Pilates Reformer, Tower, Mat and various props. The wider studio is fully equipped, with Cadillac, Chair and Barrel also on the floor.

What should I turn up with?

Gripper or sticky socks are required, so get a pair before your first visit. Tie long hair back, and bring a water bottle and a small towel.

Is a 5 rating from 16 reviews enough to go on?

Treat it as a good sign rather than proof. A 5 rating from 16 reviews is a small sample, so use the free introductory phone consultation to judge Centered Studio Pilates for yourself. The studio is women-owned, LGBTQ+-friendly and senior-friendly, which the reviews will not tell you.
